In order to play an instrument properly, a character must have the "Musical Instrument" [[Proficiency#Instrument_proficiency|Proficiency]], granted by taking a level in [[Bard]], successfully performing with [[Alfira]] in the [[Emerald Grove]], or taking the ''Performer'' [[Feat]].
