==Playing an instrument==

Instruments can by played with the [[Perform]] action, utilising a [[Performance]] skill check to distract and gather NPC's.  A successful check can result in tips.

In order to play an instrument properly, a character must have the "Musical Instrument" [[Proficiency#Instrument_proficiency|Proficiency]], granted by taking a level in [[Bard]], successfully performing with [[Alfira]] in the [[Emerald Grove]], or taking the ''Performer'' [[Feat]].

If a character is Proficient with Musical Instruments but does not have one equipped, they can still use the Perform action by [[Whistle|Whistling]].
