The Shadowfell is a plane of shadows and claimed as the domain of Shar. It is a location that can be visited through the Gauntlet of Shar in Act Two. The main feature of the Shadowfell in Baldur's Gate 3 is the Nightsong at the very bottom of the path. See Find the Nightsong#Shadowfell for a detailed breakdown of the interaction that follows. Regardless of the outcome, taking the portal out of the Shadowfell is a point of no return, and the player must confront Ketheric Thorm at Moonrise Towers.
