Instrument Proficiency trait[edit source]

Pick the lute in Druids grove to help her, succeed in two charisma rolls and your character gains the trait that allows to use musical instruments. https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Proficiency#Instrument_Proficiency, https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Permanent_Bonuses

And you get unique Lute.

Extra Superior Bardic Inspiration[edit source]

I haven’t heard this talked about anywhere, but Alfira can give you Bardic Inspiration as a Class Action, using a d12. It doesn’t require a Bardic Inspiration charge, it’s just on a Long Rest cooldown.

I’m not 100% sure of the unlock requirements, but here’s what I did to get it: my main character was a Bard, and I had another squad member play with her in the Emerald Grove to unlock the instrument proficiency. Then, after killing Ketheric in Act 2, I spoke to her in Moonrise Towers and she asked to play with me again. I said yes and we Performed together, and afterwards I saw that I had a second Bardic Inspiration action in the tray. Hopefully others can do more testing if this is something new.

Avoiding her camp encounter as Dark Urge[edit source]

Does anyone know what triggers her to talk to you at the camp? I've fought the goblins outside, unlocked Withers, spoken to Raphael, gained Lihala's lute, saved Arabella, and long rested multiple times throughout (full rest once, partial rest for all others). And yet every time I knock her out (while disguised) and rest, she or Quil won't turn up --GoingMenthol (talk) 15:12, 21 January 2024 (CET)Reply[reply]

Update: I knocked her out again, ran over to the bridge with the dead bodies and Aradin, spoke to Aradin and knocked him out for fun, spoke to Scratch and then camped immediately after. Quil turned up immediately. I think crossing the bridge may be the trigger but will need someone else to verify --GoingMenthol (talk) 15:35, 21 January 2024 (CET)Reply[reply]

New ORI Tag[edit source]

I recently read through the parsed dialogue for Patch 6, and found a few new tag for Alfira that didn't exist in previous patches.

  • ORI_Alfira_ControlledByUser
  • ORI_Alfira_State_CanBeKicked
  • ORI_Alfira_Event_KickCompanion

They are only a part of dialogue for swapping companions, per the QoL feature that was added in Patch 6, and she admittedly doesn't have any written dialogue. It's more so just empty dialogue branches for now. Still, it at least warrants some kind of mention here, that there's tags for her as a follower, either as content that never got removed, or as content that's recently been added. -- VenomousTia (talk) 19:37, 17 March 2024 (CET)Reply[reply]

We could add the following under the notes. Does this seem accurate, from the way I wrote it?
  • As part of the quality of life improvement in patch 6, which added the possibility of choosing which companion to dismiss while accepting a new one into the party, Alfira's game files seem to have gained some empty and unused dialogue lines related to being dismissed from the party. This may be a simple oversight, or part of past or future plans to make her a potential companion.

Seems to be ok for me. It also could be mentioned, that Alfira is listed as Bard with College of Lore subclass in the file Origins.lsx where all the other companions are listed, including the non-origin characters like Minthara, Halsin, Jaheira,. Minsc, Losiir and even the hirelings. Hawkeye (talk) 22:43, 18 March 2024 (CET)Reply[reply]
I've now added two notes. Feel free to improve on them if anything is inaccurate. (Haven't looked into the game files myself / don't know how they're structured.) Taylan (talk) 23:58, 18 March 2024 (CET)Reply[reply]
Great! Thank you. Hawkeye (talk) 11:54, 19 March 2024 (CET)Reply[reply]
