Why taunt[edit source]

I'm trying to figure out why anyone would want to taunt Orin with the knowledge you get from her dead mother. It's a difficult check in order to...give Orin a massive buff?

What are the benefits of doing this? 73.211.93.238 05:54, 4 July 2024 (CEST)Reply[reply]

So there are two dialogue options that you can select if you learn about her mom's secret. The first one involves no ability check and actually has a use: it will distract Orin from her kidnapping victim and skip the high DC ability checks to stop her from killing them if the party ignored her demands.
The second one with the DC 25 check is unlocked after picking the first one... and there are absolutely no gameplay benefits to picking it. It does nothing except make the fight harder. I tested it a bunch when first adding it to the wiki and can't find any gameplay reason why you'd ever want it. Idk why it works that way but it does.
The only reason to ever try to succeed it is if you want to see the unique dialogue where Bhaal speaks directly to her and forcibly transforms her into the Slayer. Ankoria (talk) 07:34, 4 July 2024 (CEST)Reply[reply]
