In the live version of this game, the item has been changed. You now need to loot the (locked) Kagha's Chest in a little passageway at the edge of the Servant's Quarters, opposite from the entrance. Inside is a Half-Torn Note and a book (Faldorn's Canticle: The Shadow Druids' Doctrine) that gives you the quest instead.
