Metamagic: Extended Spell can work on abjuration spells and provide 4x arcane ward rather than 2x.[edit source]

see above. also this trick can exceed max level of arcane ward related to wizard level.

example: A lv 5 wizard and lv 2 sorcerer, in theory can only have 10x arcane ward. but when you already have a 9x stack and use extended spell to cast a arcane lock, you'll find you have 20x arcane ward. (It will go back to 10x if you cast another abjuration spell (like a counter spell) which aren't affected by metamagic.) 185.244.208.236 14:20, 29 October 2024 (CET)Reply[reply]

I've noticed a similar behaviour before, but using a separate sorcerer and abjuration wizard. If you attack your wizard with an extended spell (e.g. Ray of Frost), the existing Arcane Ward stacks on the wizard will be doubled (minus 1 from blocking the Ray of Frost damage). I didn't realize it could exceed the normal Arcane Ward cap, so that's really cool! NtCarlson (talk) 17:22, 29 October 2024 (CET)Reply[reply]
