The combat section currently says that Volo knows 3 spells, but it looks like what's actually happening is that he is using scrolls from his inventory. I did a quick test in my game and he attacked me with Evard's Black Tentacles (and then cast Grease on himself for some dumb reason). Both of those scrolls were in his trade inventory at the time. Combat section[edit source]
The combat section currently says that Volo knows 3 spells, but it looks like what's actually happening is that he is using scrolls from his inventory. I did a quick test in my game and he attacked me with Evard's Black Tentacles (and then cast Grease on himself for some dumb reason). Both of those scrolls were in his trade inventory at the time.
