Death Burst is a passive feature available to Mephits that causes them to deal damage around them when they die. It is available in several different variants.

Fire

When the Magma Mephit dies, it explodes in a burst of lava that deals 2d6Damage TypesFire damage to all creatures within 2m / 7ft.

On a successful save, the creatures still take half damage.

Cold

When the Ice Mephit dies, it explodes in a burst of frost that deals 2d6Damage TypesCold damage to all creatures within 2m / 7ft.
