Level 11 error?[edit source]
At Level 11, the site says: "Spells Known: Choose 1 additional 1st Level Spell from the Warlock Spell List." Shouldn't this be 1 additional spell up to 5th Level? — unsigned comment by Motonoso (talk) 06:06, 11 September 2023
'Updated Format' (12:42, 19 December 2023) by 'HiddenDragon' breaking progression table for anyone else?[edit source]
The recent 'Updated Format' by 'HiddenDragon' (12:42, 19 December 2023) removes the progression table from the page for me. Instead, a second Warlock class icon and quote are displayed at the top of the page. I am not sure what causes this, since it looks fine in preview mode. It deleted the cache. I am using Mozilla Firefox in Desktop Mode and this is the only class page affected by this, so I do not think that class="wikitable nomobile" is the problem. Although it is questionable, why a compact overview of class features and progression should be removed from the mobile version. With the new format with merged cells, Proficiency Bonus is breaking the line guiding the eye through each level and should either be moved to left/right for better user experience. If the tables are too wide for the mobile version, Proficiency Bonus could be removed entirely, since it depends solely on character level and is independent from Class choice. The Spell Slots table, which contributes significantly to width, could also be separated. Spellslots depend on overall Spellcaster level, with the exception of Warlock. Presenting them as class features like this can be misleading, since a Druid 1 + Cleric 1 does not get 2 Level 1 Spell Slots from each class, for 4 total, but 3 instead, from Spellcaster Level 2. - A
- Hi, there was some issue with the cached version of the page for non-logged in users. Purging the cache seems to have fixed it. The proficiency bonus is generally always listed on these pages in various DnD documentation so that's why it's included on class pages as well. As for spell slots, explaining class progression on them is a bit beyond the scope of the class pages so there's a better article located at Spells which is frequently linked. Hope this answers your questions and thanks for pointing out the issue! --HiddenDragon (talk) 16:51, 19 December 2023 (CET)
- Hi there, thanks for the clarification! It does seem to be fixed now! I know it makes sense to include it on the class pages, but I am wondering if it has to be included in the same table as the overview of class-specific features and progression, if that leads to said table becoming too big for mobile devices. They would arguably benefit the most from such a concise overview. Separate tables would fix that, while also providing a place to link to the Spells page for more information about multiclassing. The section could simply be collapsed by anyone who does not need it right now, in the mobile version. When the table here was missing, it became apparent to me how convenient it is vs scrolling through an entire page to look up some details for multiclassing. Thank you for the effort you put into this wiki btw! - A
