Everyone's Dead?

Spoilers: So one of Orin's disguises is as the shop keep. He came running out and accused me of assulting him. After I left, I came back and found his shop covered in blood. There were no bodies and no one inside. Is everyone dead? Did I miss out on chances to buy any equipment from this shop?
