BG3Wiki contributors license their contributions when they publish on the wiki. Textual content on the main wiki namespace is licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0. Files and images on the wiki use a wider assortment of licenses, as noted on their individual pages, and some namespaces and pages may use different licenses from the rest of the wiki, as noted on their individual pages, usually at the top or bottom of the page.
Examples of pages that often use a different license from the rest of the wiki include Help pages and Templates.
Template:License can be used on pages to license contributions under other licenses than CC BY-NC-SA.
Files and transcluded contents are not automatically covered by the CC BC-NC-SA license on pages. They use their own licenses, as noted on their individual pages.
Licensing on specific namespaces
File
File and image are uploaded using the chosen license on the upload page. If no license is chosen, no license will be specified on the file's page. These files may be removed. Images from Baldur's Gate 3 uploaded without without a license are assumed to be uploaded under Larian's Fan Content Policy.
MediaWiki and Modules
The MediaWiki and Modules namespaces primarily use CC BY-SA 4.0, with exceptions noted on individual pages.
Multi-licensing
You may optionally multi-license all of your contributions to BG3Wiki under any additional licenses of your choice. These licenses will be in addition to the licenses used on any pages you contribute to.
To do so, simply note so on your userpage. Remember that this is irrevocable – you cannot take it back later, even if you edit your userpage.
