Interacting with the Unusual Skull has Dialog[edit section]
Don't know if this is a new feature or not. The wiki currently says interacting with the skull in the cell at Wyrm's Rock Prison does nothing, but I have encountered a dialog. It asks you to solve two riddles in order to escape the cell.

The skull is in fact interactive.[edit section]
Get yourself caught by guard doing something illegal and proceed to be put in prison. You end up in the cell with the skull. Now you can interact with it. It will get the player teleported out of the cell by answering two riddles.

Likely homage to another game[edit section]
In "the Secret of Monkey Island" set of games, Murray the Talking Skull is a recurring bit character. He often helps the main character out with some small puzzle and is left behind. Given the similarities in name and purpose, it seems likely that this is a direct homage.
