Illithid Persuasion is a unique illithid power that allows one to impose their will onto others with the Brand of the Absolute through conversation. This ability is unlocked automatically.
Description
Impose your authority onto those with the Brand of the Absolute.
Properties
During certain conversations just before dialog choices come up, the Narrator will state "As the symbol glows, power courses through you. Authority." This means a character has the Brand of the Absolute and can be dominated mentally to submit to you.
A DC 2 Wisdom check is usually required, though some interaction may require a higher DC. Despite the low check, a 1 or having a negative towards the check can still result in a failure. The first, second, third, fourth, and fifth time the powers are used, a unique comment is made by the Narrator for each. Upon a character successfully exercising the persuasion powers five times, the dialogue option prompt for the power is changed to True Soul and the powers will no longer require a check. However, some options using the persuasion powers may still require a check regardless. After being used, the character can not use this ability until their next Recharge: Long rest.

- Recharge: Long rest
How to learn
Notes
- In Early Access, the progression of your powers worked differently. Instead, your tadpole grew in power as you used Illithid Persuasion options in dialogue. Once you'd used Illithid Persuasion three times, you got a power unique to your Class. Some of these abilities were reworked into the current Illithid Powers.
- Normally, this power is automatically granted to all tadpoled companions but if a companion is convinced to use tadpole powers, and this companion is NOT in the active party while being convinced, a bug will prevent the ability from being granted. This forces the player to spend an extra tadpole unlocking their progression. This does not occur when the companion is in the active party as they are being convinced.
