Involvement[edit | edit source]
Act One[edit | edit source]
Edowin is in the Forest at X: 139 Y: 446 dying from wounds sustained from an Owlbear attack. When the party initiate a conversation with his siblings, Edowin's tadpole connects with that of the player character's. He asks the player character to protect Andrick and Brynna. Edowin inevitably dies from his wounds and cannot be saved by healing.
After Edowin dies, the voice of the Dream Visitor prompts the player character to further examine his body. The voice encourages the player character to recover a 
Mind Flayer Parasite Specimen from Edowin.
If the player character successfully resists being forced to collect the tadpole, the tadpole attempts to flee and rushes down the hill and disappears within one environmental turn. Turn-based mode can be entered quickly after interacting with Edowin's corpse to allow the party to attack the loose tadpole. This grants 10 XP.

- Success: The tadpole attempts to flee.
- Failure: Gain Mind Flayer Parasite Specimen
- Force your mind shut. You will not be influence by an illithid parasite. (DC 12)

- There are different dialogue options that require no checks but have similar effects.
Whatever the outcome, the party is also rewarded 30 XP.
