Cantrips discussion from the Trivia section

Perhaps it would be better to move it to the Cantrips Known subsection, so the reader can have the info immediately. I'm only a low level editor and wouldn't like to vandalize anything by accident. Maybe someone (like the author) could do it?

Nocturne

Why are you deadnaming and misgendering Nocturne? I am not an editor but I will not be using this wiki again if that is how your editors treat trans women. Even using “they” is inappropriate when you know her pronouns canonically. Absolutely disgusting.unsigned comment by 2.57.169.21 (talk) 17:24, 27 December 2023

The pronouns are now changed from they, to she. The case of her being referred to as Rennald and he, refers to her before she transitioned and changed her name. I also believe this is how the journal refers to her past. Please correct us if this is wrong. Nattern (talk) 21:34, 27 December 2023 (CET)Reply[reply]
Hey, just wanted to add that it was an honest mistake by the editor with no ill-intentions. If in future you spot a mistake with a character, you can always edit the page to fix it up, or post a note like you have done here on the talk page so someone else can (: -Twyrine (talk) 01:29, 28 December 2023 (CET)Reply[reply]
I’m sorry the editor was deadshamed just cos they referred to a (fictional) character with a neutral pronoun because they were talking about the past and present of a (fictional) character who was born a (fictional) male, then began living as a (fictional) woman. Soz, I used the wrong tense. They WERE (fictionally) living, until Tav killed them dead. ☠️ Deadshame me for that. 104.28.90.37 16:43, 1 May 2024 (CEST)Reply[reply]

About Shadowheart's hometown

We have a note that indicates she grew up in Moonhaven, also known as the Blighted Village. The reference for this is a supposed ambient line said by Shadowheart. The problem is that finding this line online is impossible, and at least I couldn't get it to trigger in-game. In order to verify, we went through the events of the game and the various notes and things don't line up.

Moonhaven Logbook, written a long time ago, indicates the scouting efforts and eventual attacks by Sharrans, in line with Ketheric's growing power as a Shar devout and his Dark Justiciar army, so over a hundred years ago. Old Letter indicates that a Dark Justiciar has failed to destroy Moonhaven and that as a result, Ketheric is marching there himself to destroy it. Given that we have no official confirmation of what ruined the village, we can safely assume that Ketheric was successful and the reason for the village's destruction. If so, Shadowheart would have to be over 100 years old to have grown up in Moonhaven, but as she says herself and as confirmed by Viconia's writings, she's roughly 50. Furthermore, there's also the unique scene involving Sharran helmets in Early Access, where she would reveal that the village was destroyed some point in the past. These helmets do not appear in the full release of the game, and the scene is inaccessible.

The counterpoint to this is Regarding Strange Riders in These Parts which seems to indicate that Moonhaven still exists in some form after those events, given that in Forgotten Realms lore Elturgard is expanding mid 15th century. Another possibility is that the town was built, destroyed, rebuilt again and destroyed once more, but it seems like a somewhat convoluted series of events for a small village.

Whatever the case, what Shadowheart's hometown is, is not as clear as initially thought, and we could really use more information on this. If anyone gets to trigger this line of hers mentioned, and post it here or the Discord (ping me or bobdodo), it would be greatly appreciated. Likewise for any other type or information or theories. --Emeff (talk) 10:59, 2 February 2024 (CET)Reply[reply]
