Cantrips discussion from the Trivia section[edit source]
Perhaps it would be better to move it to the Cantrips Known subsection, so the reader can have the info immediately. I'm only a low level editor and wouldn't like to vandalize anything by accident. Maybe someone (like the author) could do it?
Nocturne[edit source]
Why are you deadnaming and misgendering Nocturne? I am not an editor but I will not be using this wiki again if that is how your editors treat trans women. Even using “they” is inappropriate when you know her pronouns canonically. Absolutely disgusting.— unsigned comment by 2.57.169.21 (talk) 17:24, 27 December 2023
- The pronouns are now changed from they, to she. The case of her being referred to as Rennald and he, refers to her before she transitioned and changed her name. I also believe this is how the journal refers to her past. Please correct us if this is wrong. Nattern (talk) 21:34, 27 December 2023 (CET)
- Hey, just wanted to add that it was an honest mistake by the editor with no ill-intentions. If in future you spot a mistake with a character, you can always edit the page to fix it up, or post a note like you have done here on the talk page so someone else can (: -Twyrine (talk) 01:29, 28 December 2023 (CET)
- I’m sorry the editor was deadshamed just cos they referred to a (fictional) character with a neutral pronoun because they were talking about the past and present of a (fictional) character who was born a (fictional) male, then began living as a (fictional) woman. Soz, I used the wrong tense. They WERE (fictionally) living, until Tav killed them dead. ☠️ Deadshame me for that. 104.28.90.37 16:43, 1 May 2024 (CEST)

About Shadowheart's hometown[edit source]
We have a note that indicates she grew up in Moonhaven, also known as the Blighted Village. The reference for this is a supposed ambient line said by Shadowheart. The problem is that finding this line online is impossible, and at least I couldn't get it to trigger in-game. In order to verify, we went through the events of the game and the various notes and things don't line up.
Moonhaven Logbook, written a long time ago, indicates the scouting efforts and eventual attacks by Sharrans, in line with Ketheric's growing power as a Shar devout and his Dark Justiciar army, so over a hundred years ago. Old Letter indicates that a Dark Justiciar has failed to destroy Moonhaven and that as a result, Ketheric is marching there himself to destroy it. Given that we have no official confirmation of what ruined the village, we can safely assume that Ketheric was successful and the reason for the village's destruction. If so, Shadowheart would have to be over 100 years old to have grown up in Moonhaven, but as she says herself and as confirmed by Viconia's writings, she's roughly 50. Furthermore, there's also the unique scene involving Sharran helmets in Early Access, where she would reveal that the village was destroyed some point in the past. These helmets do not appear in the full release of the game, and the scene is inaccessible.
The counterpoint to this is Regarding Strange Riders in These Parts which seems to indicate that Moonhaven still exists in some form after those events, given that in Forgotten Realms lore Elturgard is expanding mid 15th century. Another possibility is that the town was built, destroyed, rebuilt again and destroyed once more, but it seems like a somewhat convoluted series of events for a small village.
Whatever the case, what Shadowheart's hometown is, is not as clear as initially thought, and we could really use more information on this. If anyone gets to trigger this line of hers mentioned, and post it here or the Discord (ping me or bobdodo), it would be greatly appreciated. Likewise for any other type or information or theories. --Emeff (talk) 10:59, 2 February 2024 (CET)
- In a recent livestream John Corcoran, Shadowheart's main writer, said that Moonhaven is most likely not the actual place she is from but rather just a similar situation happening somewhere else that is reminiscent of what happened to her. He does also say that they were "kind of considering it" at some point but that the timeline doesn't really line up. Eira (talk) 19:50, 10 May 2024 (CEST)
Should Shadowheart's given name be considered a spoiler?[edit source]
I'm not versed in the guidelines of the wiki, so my apologies if this is completely off-base! It just struck me as a little odd, so I checked in here to see if it had been discussed, which it doesn't seem to, so I figured I'd bring it up: Should the article be mentioning Shadowheart's given name right at the beginning? It feels like a spoiler to me since the reveal is a poignant part of her arc's culmination. Thoughts? 80.197.0.210 21:47, 25 August 2024 (CEST)
Shadowheart Leaving[edit source]
I've been experimenting with trying to get Shadowheart to leave your party or otherwise get rid of her early on. Not because I dislike her, mostly out of curiosity, because it seems that it's very challenging to do so and all of the ways of 'missing' Shadowheart as a companion involve murdering her.
There's an inaccuracy on her page at the moment, it suggests that, "If the player character makes clear they refuse to travel with a Sharran when she reveals her Shar worship ... she permanently leaves the party. "
She doesn't though. I've tried myself multiple different ways to get her to leave during dialogue and none have seemed to work. I'm not sure what this note on the wiki page is referring to, what scene it is. I can't find any evidence of it on YouTube either. You can outright say "I may need to reconsider traveling with a Shar worshiper" and she has some witty comeback but she still doesn't leave.
Can anyone else verify if you can kick Shadowheart in this way? If not, I think it should be removed or reworded. 159.196.241.227 02:16, 30 January 2026 (CET)
- I agree. After some testing, I found no dialogue options in Act One that resulted in Shadowheart permanently leaving the party. I thought this would be possible after she reveals her Shar worship - or any point thereafter, but this never happened for me. I strongly suspect this has to do with her carrying the Mysterious Artefact, a salient item required throughout the entire game. If she leaves the party permanently, how would would it get moved to the lead player character? Yes, it can get moved to the PC if the party approaches the Goblin Camp without her in the active party, but that is by far an exception to it otherwise never leaving her side.
- This issue appears to need more research. Because of this I added a [verify] tag to her entry on the companions page, unless and until someone else can provide a definitive example or forcing her to leave in conversation during Act One.

- I verified the files and there's nothing in the tag that says "DB_OriginMayLeaveDialog" regarding Shadowheart in Act 1, only in Acts 2 and 3. For comparison, Gale has the "DB_OriginMayLeaveDialog" tag in the "(DIALOGRESOURCE)Gale_InParty2" which I presume is when we told him to leave after he reveals the Orb inside him as well as Astarion in "CAMP_AstarionHunger_SCO_Companion". SlimX's video also confirms that there are no instances in Act 1 where she can leave the party. Loekman3 (talk) 05:47, 30 January 2026 (CET)
- Thank you for confirming, I made the necessary adjustments. Raelin (talk) 05:49, 30 January 2026 (CET)
