BG3Wiki is a fan wiki for a video game. That means there's a lot of information to catalog and a lot of different hands touching a lot of different wiki pages.
BG3Wiki uses references to inform readers where im the game information on the wiki comes from. This is called '''verification'''.

It also means citing external sources for in-game information is not necessary; the game itself is our source. That said, we like to maintain a reasonably high level of accuracy in the information committed to each page.
All information on the wiki does not need to be referenced. The more difficult it is to find a piece of information in the game, the more likely it is that it needs references.

To communicate to readers that a piece of information may not be 100% accurate, and to help other wiki editors know something needs attention, please use the {{code|<nowiki>{{Verify}}</nowiki>}} template (template page here: [[:Template:Verify]]) when you're not sure about a piece of information. This is more helpful than omitting the information or writing the dreaded 'I think' (see the [[:Help:Style Guide#Perspective|Style Guide]] for more info on this and other guidelines for writing articles).
To add references, use the {{code|<nowiki><ref></nowiki>}} ... code|<nowiki></ref></nowiki>}} tag. If there is no Reference sections at the end of the article, add it, and add the tag code|<nowiki></references></nowiki>}} as the only content in that section.

If you come across information on the wiki without references, or if you don't believe the references are correct or sufficient, you can request verification by adding the [[Template:Verify|verify]] template ({{code|<nowiki>{{Verify}}</nowiki>}}) after the sentence or paragraph with the potentially incorrect information. Do not remove information unless you know it to be incorrect – take it to the Talk Page instead.
Insert the {{code|<nowiki>{{Verify}}</nowiki>}} template to mark some information as needing verification by other readers or wiki editors.

The ideal way to verify information is to check/test it for yourself in-game on the latest patch, but this isn't always necessary. In a pinch, videos and streams from other players can help. Do be wary of any installed mods.

Once you've verified the information and made any necessary edits, remove the {{code|<nowiki>{{Verify}}</nowiki>}} template from the page in question.

BG3Wiki uses references to inform readers where im the game information on the wiki comes from. This is called verification.

All information on the wiki does not need to be referenced. The more difficult it is to find a piece of information in the game, the more likely it is that it needs references.

To add references, use the <ref> ... code|</ref>}} tag. If there is no Reference sections at the end of the article, add it, and add the tag code|</references>}} as the only content in that section.

If you come across information on the wiki without references, or if you don't believe the references are correct or sufficient, you can request verification by adding the verify template ({{Verify}}) after the sentence or paragraph with the potentially incorrect information. Do not remove information unless you know it to be incorrect – take it to the Talk Page instead.

For a list of pages that need verification, see Pages needing verification.
