Pact of the Blade

This article is about the action to summon a new pact weapon. For the action to bind an existing weapon, see Bind Pact Weapon. For the Pact Boon, see Pact of the Blade (passive feature).

Pact of the Blade is a class action available to Warlocks that choose  Pact of the Blade at level 3. It allows the warlock to conjure a magical weapon of a chosen type. Alternative, warlocks may bind an existing weapon with  Bind Pact Weapon.

Description

Summon a weapon to your hand. It uses the wielder's Charisma modifier, and its damage is magical.

You are Proficient with the weapon. You can only have one at a time. The weapon disappears if you are more than 1.5 m / 5 ft away from it for more than 10 rounds.

How to learn

Classes:

• Class level 3: Warlock

Notes

• The weapon action DC of the summoned Pact Weapon still uses Strength or Dexterity instead of Charisma.
• The last three variants,  Flail,  Maul, and  Sickle, are exclusive to Hexblades who choose Pact of the Blade. Other warlock subclasses will not have access to them.
