Shovel (familiar): Difference between revisions

To permanently gain Shovel as a summonable familiar, take any character that has no levels in Storm Sorcerer or Wild Magic Sorceror{{note|Sorcerers have their own dialogue options when summoning Shovel. Due to Shovel being afraid of Sorcerers, these options will result in you not being able to get her as a permanent summon. However, Casting {{Sai|Disguise Self}} or {{SAI|Shapeshift}} will remove your class tags, allowing sorcerers to do the first dialogue if doing it with another character is not an option. Alternatively, if you are a Draconic Bloodline Sorceror, choosing the Draconic Bloodline option "That's all I know" in the initial dialogue, will allow the rest of the dialogue to proceed normally.}}, and summon her either with the {{RarityItem|Scroll of Summon Quasit}} found in the [[Apothecary's Cellar]] or by a wizard scribing the scroll and casting {{SAI|Find Familiar: Cheeky Quasit}}. The character who summoned shovel will then automatically initiate dialogue with her. Here you have to do the right dialogue options{{note|You cannot change Shovel's name, and you cannot ask about her former master Illyn. The dialogue options you get if you are a Sorcerer also won't work.}} - choosing the first one every time will work if you are not a Draconic Bloodline Sorceror. Draconic Bloodline Sorcerors need to follow a different opening dialogue, starting with "I have draconic blood in me, but that's all I know", upon which Shovel calls you a fake dragon and will proceed with the regular dialogue. After finishing that dialogue go to the character who you want to be able to resummon Shovel with, and start a new dialogue. If that character is a Warlock, Wizard, or Sorcerer, Shovel will call them a "spell shite" and the spell will be added permanently to that characters common tab. Respeccing does not remove the spell.
