Criteria

Z'rell and Aelis seem questionable as bosses to me. They seem in line with Radija, Kressa, Haarlep, and the Warden Capranaut (talk) 19:56, 27 June 2026 (CEST)

Yes, this page needs well-defined criteria for inclusion, otherwise it will continue to expand until it includes every single fight in the game. I especially disagree with adding Anders to this list; I honestly can't think of a less remarkable fight in the game. I was confusing Anders with Andorn, but my point still stands.

Some possible criteria:

• Characters with IsBoss flag: This is missing from some obvious bosses (Cazador, Gortash, Netherbrain) and is included on some random fodder (Shadow Creeper Vines).
• Characters with XPCategory set to Boss: This is even more haphazardly set than the IsBoss flag, but at least Gortash and the Netherbrain are considered bosses by this criteria.
• Characters with IsBoss flag or the Boss XPCategory: This could be a reasonable approach since the most "proper" boss fights will satisfy one of those criteria. Still excludes the Owlbear fight, though.
• Characters with legendary actions: I think this is the best approach since I think it most accurately represents what Larian considers the bosses of their game to be. From the Honour mode description: "Stronger Bosses: The most dangerous foes in the Realms are more powerful in this mode, with new abilities and Legendary Actions". Hence, a character is a boss if and only if it has legendary actions in honour mode. This would exclude some reasonable entries like Commander Zhalk, but I still think it is the best approach.
