Talk:Wyll
@HarveyPekar: we are attempting to keep notes to a minimum in order to encourage adding information to the article itself, but if some information doesn't fit in the article, we should keep them in Notes. There's a possibility we'll add an "Changes on release version" article that would cover stuff like, in this example, Wyll's previous VA and story rewrite, but until then, keeping Notes is fine :) Emeff (talk) 06:28, 6 January 2024 (CET)
Tiefling vs. Fiend[edit source]
For clarification, does Mizora turn Wyll into an entire devil (one, 1, devil) or just a tiefling when he refuses to kill Karlach? I'd assumed tiefling, but we say devil here. I feel like it'd have a lot of repercussions outside of just his looks. Fireant314 (talk) 03:16, 28 April 2024 (CEST)
- Wyll was changed to take on the physical characteristics of a devil, albeit for certain characters unfamiliar with what Mizora did (I presume you're thinking about the guard in Act III) they just assume he's a standard tiefling. FriendoftheDrow (talk) 17:51, 24 November 2024 (CET)
Wyll's title[edit source]
Here it says his title is "Blade of the Frontier". Shouldn't it be "Blade of Frontiers"? 195.117.67.23 00:54, 25 July 2024 (CEST)
Exploits[edit source]
The use of exploits or 3rd party tools to achieve non-canon results (eg. recruiting Karlach and keeping Wyll without horns) would make for an interesting YouTube video but it does not qualify as legitimate information in a wiki page. As such I removed the exploit. Viktoria Landers (talk) 13:17, 30 March 2025 (CEST)
After gathering more opinions, I believe the best course of action is to catalogue this exploit in the note section without the screenshot, in a similar manner as bugs for example are being presented. Viktoria Landers (talk) 23:24, 31 March 2025 (CEST)
- I second that. Hawkeye (talk) 23:42, 31 March 2025 (CEST)
- The original edit in question was done in January. The reasoning behind the picture was discussed in detail on my talk page, and ultimately left in place, so I won't bring it up again here. It did not become an issue until yesterday - 80 days later.
- Nevertheless, this site operates on consensus. If consensus is to remove the picture, then consensus should govern. Raelin (talk) 00:47, 1 April 2025 (CEST)
- Consensus does govern, but if you have legitimate reasons for wanting to keep the exploit within the character's involvement section, you can lay them out here. Viktoria Landers (talk) 06:39, 1 April 2025 (CEST)
- I choose to turn your argument around and state one's personal distaste for exploits (as you appear to have - to the point where you wouldn't allow any listed on this site) is not a legitimate reason to remove them.
- Listing the exploit where it is, along with the picture, is for the benefit of those who don't like Will's horns, but also wish to keep Karlach in the party. It's difficult to measure how many players may feel this way, but it's not unreasonable to assume I'm not the only one. The picture backs up the assertion this can and has been done. His appearance, and one's choice on whether or not to influence it, is arguably best mentioned where it could change, hence the placement immediately after where Mizora may alter it - depending on the player's choices.
- I personally am a big believer in allowing the player as much choice as possible. Removing the picture or placement of text may diminish the ability of the player to know such choices exist or see proof it has been done. That is, as I see it, a big part of what this wiki is about: informing the player and letting them choose - not making arbitrary judgement calls about what may or may not be canon and/or permissible.
- Other notable exploits listed on this wiki include, but may not be limited to: early acquisition of the Silver Sword of the Astral Plane, Raphael's Helldusk Armour, weapons carried by Elemental summons and Deva maces. They, too are listed in areas where the player would want to know. In my opinion, such listings may enrich the player's experience, not diminish them - or the wiki.
- I thought this kind of thinking would be understood by most, if not all, but fleshing out a debate can and does have its benefits.
- Again, this ultimately becomes a matter of consensus. Whatever that is, I'll respect it. Raelin (talk) 07:31, 1 April 2025 (CEST)

- I do not appreciate turning the argument into what you believe I like or have distaste for. This talk page is not about my personal preferences but on the standards we uphold as a Wiki community.
- First of all, the game is vast and extremely complicated so there are thousands of exploits and bugs which are not patched out. The way this exploit is currently presented gives the impression that a hornless Wyll with a recruited Karlach is something feasible and not a non-canon scenario which you get by exploiting the death mechanism and the fact that Mizora only shows up during the "end the day" period.
- As such, moving it to a dedicated paragraph for 'Exploits' still documents which is something you support but also does not deceive the average reader into believing this is canon / intended by the devs. Viktoria Landers (talk) 21:35, 2 April 2025 (CEST)
- Your opinions. Raelin (talk) 23:55, 2 April 2025 (CEST)
- As it was discussed in discord, the consensus is, that in this wiki, exploits don't belong in the main text but in the notes section, where in this case already the most of it was and still is. Images of exploits shouldn't be added to the main text. All this was also added to the Style Guide. Hawkeye (talk) 11:38, 4 April 2025 (CEST)
