Witch Bolt is a level 1 evocation spell. It allows spellcasters to hit enemies with a blue ray of electrifying energy that deals Lightning damage to them initially and also on subsequent turns.
A successful hit with this bolt will create an arc of lightning between the target and the caster. It can then be activated again on subsequent turns to automatically hit the target without expending spell slots. This arc will disappear and end the spell early if not activated on subsequent turns, or if the caster and the target move out of range of each other.
Description
Call forth a beam of crackling energy. Deals 1d12Lightning damage and links you to the target through an arc of lightning.
Each subsequent turn, you can use an action to activate the arc to automatically deal 1d12Lightning damage.
