Deliver Nere's Head is a quest in Chapter One of Baldur's Gate 3. It can be started if the player talks to Sovereign Spaw at Ebonlake Grotto, after completing Defeat the Duergar Intruders.

Objectives

  • Kill Nere.
    • Sovereign Spaw wants the head of Nere the drow.
  • Take Nere's head.
    • Nere is dead. We need to take his head to the Myconid Sovereign.
  • Return to the Myconid Sovereign.
    • Nere is dead, and now we have his head. The Sovereign Spaw will be pleased.

Walkthrough

Nere freed from the cave-in.

Nere can be found at Grymforge. The quest Free True Soul Nere must be complete in order to successfully proceed with this quest - otherwise, Nere will remain trapped behind the cave-in and will be inaccessible.

Once he is free, completing this quest will simply require you to kill him and take his head. You can also choose to side with or spare Nere. Allowing Nere to live will fail this quest but open up other story and dialogue options.

Depending on your dialogue choices and actions with the various factions and occupants at Grymforge, this confrontation can look very different:

  • You can side with the duergar rebels against Nere.
    • This requires you having spoken to Elder Brithvar prior to the confrontation.
  • You can side with Nere and the Cult of the Absolute against the duergar rebels.
  • You can fight both the duergar and the cult at the same time.
  • You can also clear the area of occupants prior to freeing Nere, to which he would react accordingly.

How you choose to deal with the duergars (violently or diplomatically) will affect the outcomes of the Save the Grymforge Gnomes quest.

Quest Rewards

Upon successful completion of this quest, Spaw will reward you with:

If you choose to kill Nere, you can loot the following items off his corpse:

If you choose to spare Nere (and fail the quest), he'll give you the following item:
