I've long admired the vigil that Mortarch Gracie keeps over this graveyard. I was lucky enough to tell her as much, while I was picking out my resting place.
I haven't had much in the way of family, friends, or wealth in some time. Somehow I outlived them all. Yet knowing that the Mortarch will stand vigil over my remains gives me solace. Folk say there's no sense praying to the god of death. But as I stand at the end of my days, my hours, I think there's no one more powerful. Even as my mind and body shrink to the shape of a hole in the ground, and my luck's worn to nothing at all, death remains.
