Vicious Mockery is a cantrip (Enchantment). It deals Psychic damage to enemies and inflicts Disadvantage on their Attack Rolls.

Insult a creature: it has  Disadvantage on its next  Attack roll.

At higher levels

• At character level 5, the damage increases to 2d4⁠⁠Psychic.
• At character level 10, the damage increases to 3d4⁠⁠Psychic.

• Disadvantage on the next Attack roll.

Classes:

• Class level 1: Bard
• Class level 3: Warlock (via Pact of the Tome)

•  Magic Initiate: Bard

Other ways to learn:

• There are no scrolls available for wizards to scribe to their spellbooks.

Notes

• In most cases casting this spell causes the caster to make a verbal quip or insult the target. These remarks are fully voice acted, including for characters who do not normally have access to the spell. (These same lines are also used for the College of Lore Bard feature  Cutting Words.)

• Targets hit by this spell will face the caster.

Bugs

•  Vicious Mockery is removed on any "attack" made by the target, which includes virtually any attack or spell which targets another creature (including allies), that does not need to include an Attack Roll.
