Candles are common miscellaneous items.

Candles can be used as simple light sources and a mundane means of igniting flammable surfaces, if properly set. They can also increase damage of stationary ranged characters via Dip Dip, which supplies an infinite source of additional fire damage for three rounds.

Effect

  • When placed on a surface
    • Provides light in a 6ft/1.8m radius and has the Burning Burning condition.
    • As a Bonus Action, weapons can be Dipped Dipped to gain 1d4 fire damage for 3 rounds.

Throughout the game as set-dressing and random loot

Notes

  • Unlike other light sources such as Torches, candles can not be equipped in the Light Source slot.
  • Candles don't deal direct damage like Torches, but can enhance damage through the Dip effect for ranged characters.
