Omeluum is a friendly Illithid NPC and Trader in Baldur's Gate 3. He can be found at the Myconoid Colony in the Underdark after being contacted by Blurg. He is member of the Society of Brilliance and can attempt to remove the tadpole.
Act 1

The player can meet Omeluum after talking to the Hobgoblin trader Blurg at the Myconoid Colony. He is a fellow scholar of the Society of Brillance, who will bring the Illithid to help the player.
The player has several opportunities to attack Omeluum during dialogue, and some Companions might actually suggest it. If the players listens to Omeluum they will find out the Illithid is a rogue member of its society who was born with special powers that allow it to resist the control of the Elder Brain of his colony. Omeluum feeds on the brain of cruel and sadistic creatures of the Underdark, and wishes to help the Illithid society by discovering a brain-free diet.
Should the player bring Omeluum the required ingredients, it will attempt to remove the tadpole. Omeluum will not only fail, but also make the powerful stronger. The Mindflayer will be surprised and worried about the power of the tadpole, and will apologize for not being of service. Omeluum will then offer to sell the Ring of Restorative Gravity, which can limit the powers of the tadpole. The player can either buy it or convince Omeluum to give it to them.
