Oubliette is an area under Moonrise Towers Prison. Shrouded in shadow and covered in bloody viscera, it houses prisoners of the Cult of the Absolute, both living and dead.

Overview

Oubliette can be reached in multiple ways:

  • From Moonrise Towers Prison, it can be reached by descending into the pit in Moonrise Towers PrisonX: 580 Y: 690, or by jumping into the hole inside one of the cells X: 579 Y: -615.
  • From Moonrise Towers, it can be reached by submitting to or failing the checks to escape the cracked wallX: -126 Y: -177.
  • If the player progresses through Reithwin TownX: -290 Y: -14 on the Road to Baldur's Gate before Ketheric Thorm is defeated, the player will be given the choice to continue ahead or turn back; if the player chooses to continue, they will be immediately transported to the Oubliette.

Though a part of the Mind Flayer Colony, the player may only reach the remainder of the area after defeating Ketheric on top of Moonrise Towers.

Points of interest

  • A pair of Hook Horrors stand between the player's usual "landing" location and the exit.
  • The player can Speak with Dead Speak with Dead on a dead Goblin at X: 639 Y: -79. A former True Soul, he elucidates on the "ascension" that befalls some believers of the Absolute.

  • Chop can be heard talking to himself through the walls.
