Act Three[edit | edit source]
Eugenie and Wendel Ashgrove are conversing at the centre of Bloomridge Park. Although the pair have dated for only one month, Wendel seems to have very strong feelings for her. Eugenie attempts to tactfully break up with him, but he misunderstands and agrees that both of them could get to know many more people around them.
Idle banter[edit | edit source]
Wendel Ashgrove: I still remember our first date in this park, you know. There were certainly less Fists about.
- Eugenie Kenridge: It's only been a month, Wendel. Of course you remember our first date.
- Wendel Ashgrove: But what a perfect month it's been - right, darling?
- Eugenie Kenridge: Riiight.
- Wendel Ashgrove: You know, I really don't think I've ever felt this way about someone before.
- Eugenie Kenridge: I remind you again, Wendel. One. Month.
- Wendel Ashgrove: You know, I really don't think I've ever felt this way about someone before.
- Eugenie Kenridge: Riiight.
- Wendel Ashgrove: But what a perfect month it's been - right, darling?
Wendel Ashgrove: I just think this park is so beautiful, don't you, darling?
- Eugenie Kenridge: It's a bit loud, what with all these clanking guards.
- Wendel Ashgrove: I could ask them to keep it down. Anything for you, dear.
- Eugenie Kenridge: Listen, Wendel, I really think we need to have a chat.
- Wendel Ashgrove: Are we not already having a chat, my angel?
- Eugenie Kenridge: *Sigh.*
- Wendel Ashgrove: Are we not already having a chat, my angel?
- Eugenie Kenridge: Listen, Wendel, I really think we need to have a chat.
- Wendel Ashgrove: I could ask them to keep it down. Anything for you, dear.
Wendel Ashgrove: You said you wanted to chat, my love?
- Eugenie Kenridge: Yes... I did want to chat, Wendel.
- Wendel Ashgrove: What did you want to talk about, my darling?
- Eugenie Kenridge: Well... I asked you here because... Gods. Never mind.
- Wendel Ashgrove: What did you want to talk about, my darling?
Wendel Ashgrove: Come now, you know you can tell me anything.
- Eugenie Kenridge: I just don't know how to say it... I think we should start seeing other people. There.
- Wendel Ashgrove: Well, there's plenty of folk in this park we could get to know! Especially with all these new Fists. They'd be great craic, I bet.
- Eugenie Kenridge: You are impossible sometimes, Wendel. Impossible.
- Wendel Ashgrove: Well, there's plenty of folk in this park we could get to know! Especially with all these new Fists. They'd be great craic, I bet.
