  • The starving illithid is fully focused on eating its first brain in an age.
  • Consuming the brain provides the equivalent of one Mind Flayer Parasite Specimen.

Where to find

Notes

  • Consuming this has the same effect as consuming a Mind Flayer Parasite Specimen in granting the ability to choose a new power from Illithid powers. However, consuming it after having fed the newborn mind flayer does not grant the bonus, triggering the message: "It's no good - it won't be any use now. It's overripend thanks to your feeding."
  • Despite the action of consuming carrying the name of the character actually eating the brain, the effect is to add one point to the communal powers pool and so anyone in the party can use the point, not just the consumer.

Bugs

  • In what may be an oversight, this brain has no effect if eaten by a character who has not consumed any Mind Flayer Parasite Specimen before.
  • The animation on spending the point shows a tadpole instead of a brain.
