Neural Apparatus

Neural Apparatuses are Illithid devices which can have different functions. Some are used to operate elevator platforms, while others can be used to control Mind Flayer Pods.

Involvement

Prologue

Inside the Surgery room of the Nautiloid a Neural Apparatus operates the elevator platform. It allows access to an upper level. On the upper level, a high elf named  Myrnath can be found with a removed scalp, his exposed brain telepathically pleading for help.

Act Two

One Neural Apparatus is in the Tadpoling Centre of the Mind Flayer Colony. It operates the nearby Mind Flayer Pods; some of them are empty, some already keep newly created mind flayers, while others contain characters whom the party has met previously in Act One:  Zevlor,  Gauntlet Yeva, and  Manip Shuurga. The party can free or kill characters in the pods with the Neural Apperatus.

Another apparatus is in the eastern part of the colony and allows the party to use a moving platform to advance towards Ketheric Thorm.
