Pearlspore Bell

Pearlspore bell is an entity found in Act Three. It is a magical mushroom with life-sustaining properties.

Involvement

Three pearlspore bells are found in  The Blushing Mermaid - Basement. These fungi, pulsating with healing energy, are the secret to Auntie Ethel's supernatural regeneration. As long as one or more survive, a dead Auntie Ethel is resurrected at the start of the next turn with  Fungal Resurrection.

Destroying all three mushrooms allows the party to finally put an end to the hag's life. This can be achieved before the fight begins by going straight to her lair without confronting Ethel disguised as Captain Grisly, placing a sufficient quantity of explosives near each bell, and triggering them simultaneously using a spell like  Magic Missile or  Scorching Ray.

As suggested in A Hunter's Guide to Hags, a  Burning condition blocks the  Healing Pearl restoration.  Arrow of Ilmater or  Bone Chilled is also effective.
