Reeling (Condition)

From bg3.wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search
  • Recovering from receiving a terrible blow or hitting a strong metal. Has a -1 penalty to Attack Rolls for every turn remaining.
  • Reeling has a maximum Duration: 10 turns.

Notes

  • Reeling is removed on the next attack made by the creature it is applied to.
  • The way Reeling's duration is applied changes depending on the source:
    • Giantbreaker: Hitting with this weapon always adds 2 turns to the target, up to a maximum of 10 turns. This is the only way to extend the condition beyond 3 turns.
    • Adamantine Shield: Missing an attack against a character wearing this shield removes any existing Reeling condition from the attacker and then applies a new 2-turn Reeling condition. On a hit, any existing Reeling is removed, and no new condition is applied. Thus, the maximum duration from the shield alone is 2 turns.
    • Adamantine Scale Mail or Adamantine Splint Armour: Missing an attack against a character wearing one of these armours removes the Reeling condition. On a hit, the effect depends on whether the attacker is already affected by Reeling:
      • If the attacker does not have Reeling, hitting a character wearing these armours adds 2 and 3 turns, respectively. Thus, the maximum duration from these armours alone is 2 and 3, respectively.
  • If a creature has a Multiattack action, the attack penalty applies to all attacks in the Multiattack before the duration changes.
