Runepowder Vial is a rare Consumable. It can be thrown thrown and explodes when broken.

Runepowder was said to be invented by Gaerdal IronhandGaerdal Ironhand, the protector god of gnomes. A mere 23 vials were needed to repel an assault led by KurtulmakKurtulmak and his Kobold Delvers.

Effect

Action - Throw Throw the vial

  •  Range: 18 m / 60 ft
  • If broken, the vial explodes
  • On explosion:
    • AoE: 6 m / 20 ft (Radius) (Much larger than indicated in-game)
    • 5d4 + 18 (23~38) ForceForce
      damage (DC 12 Dexterity saving throw Dexterity saving throw to halve)
    • Automatically Critically Hits objects and environments[verify]
    • Creatures caught in the blast are knocked back 6 m / 20 ft (no saving throw)

Where to find

Notes

  • The vial is inert unless destroyed.
    • Unless its hp are exhausted, the vial can be thrown from a certain height without exploding.
      • It can also be placed on a fire surface, though it may explode immediately upon doing so.
    • Given its mass, it only takes 1BludgeoningBludgeoning damage from being thrown thrown.
    • For Falling damage to deal the remaining 3BludgeoningBludgeoning damage, a height of roughly 13 m / 43 ft is required.
