Experience when killed[edit source]

Could we add this information in the infobox?

For instance, killing Nere is worth 90 xp and I can't find this information anywhere.

Other example, many creatures are worth 0 xp and it would be great to have this information in the wiki.

I don't know if the experience changes depending of the mode (balanced, tactician, etc) and if it's scaled down if the player is overleveled.

Thoughts? TitanstringEnjoyer (talk) 18:30, 8 June 2024 (CEST)Reply

I think this is a good idea. I have extracted a bunch of information about every character from the game files, and this includes the XP reward. I could go through and fill out this information on the wiki. As far as I know, the XP reward is not affected by difficulty settings. NtCarlson (talk) 18:49, 8 June 2024 (CEST)Reply

Proficiency default now created balanced tab by default[edit source]

Since the latest change 'Fallback value for prof bonus', I think the template will always create the balanced tab and proficiency bonus, even when its not applicable.

See Rian Forbeck and Eliette for examples.

Could this somehow be undone when no values are set or something? Yuvixadun (talk) 08:59, 9 August 2025 (CEST)Reply

Thanks for noting! For now, I've fixed it by checking if an HP value is specified. If there's no HP, the creature probably never appears in a combat context so it also wouldn't have a (known) proficiency bonus, like the in-universe authors you've linked. Changing voiced to acted?[edit source]

I suppose voiced is better as an umbrella term considering exceptions, but some actors that worked in this game expressed annoyance at being referred as voice actors instead of actors for the characters, as it doesnt accurately convey the extent of their work. AFrigidDoor (talk) 17:57, 28 September 2025 (CEST)Reply

Do you mean because they also did motion capture with the voice actors? If so, that would probably depend on the character. The vast majority of NPCs probably share a mocap actor with all other NPCs that have the same body type or such, right? So "voiced" is probably correct most of the time whereas "acted" (mocap) are the special-cases. And I seem to remember Karlach's VA saying in a recent interview that she was not the one doing the mocap dancing... (Karlach's idle animation.) Taylan (talk) 18:22, 28 September 2025 (CEST)Reply
Larian is actually quite special, the overwhelming majority of the actors are indeed mocapping their characters (https://x.com/alionabaranova1/status/1695224286015844622) . However, you are right that in some instances (choreographed/stunt scenes it seems, mostly) characters will be mocapped by others. This actually seems to be the case for more important characters, but it depends, and we cannot know 100% for sure. Generalization might help there. Basically, for almost all cases, if you can hear their voice they're also mocapping the character. The cited Karlach dance is one where she's not speaking, so on and so forth. AFrigidDoor (talk) 18:28, 28 September 2025 (CEST)Reply
Hmm I see. (That's really freaking cool and I didn't know it.) I would suggest "Voice / Actor" as a label then. Thoughts? Taylan (talk) 18:37, 28 September 2025 (CEST)Reply
That's a good compromise, I think! And yes, super cool stuff. If you want to learn a bit more, there are some panel talks from OP (Aliona) and a recent talk held by Greg Lidstone that includes clips of mo-cap stuff. There are some older interviews with other performance directors as well. AFrigidDoor (talk) 18:40, 28 September 2025 (CEST)Reply
