Feel free to create an account[edit source]

It'll get rid of the annoying CAPTCHA once the account is 10+ minutes old and has 3+ edits. Taylan (talk) 13:30, 3 March 2024 (CET)Reply[reply]

Books[edit source]

Heya, thanks a lot for all the great edits! Just wanted to point out that some of the "missing books" you've added to Talk:Books actually exist on the wiki, just haven't been added to the Books list yet. For example, Concerning Orin the Red exists.

And it would be great for both of us if you create an account. It will spare you the CAPTCHA (once the account is 10+ minutes old and has 3+ edits), and it will spare me the effort of "patrolling" your edits. (Edits made anonymously are automatically marked as "unpatrolled" by the wiki, and I keep an eye on them to make sure there isn't any vandalism. Once an account makes a few edits, it becomes "trusted" and the edits don't appear among the "unpatrolled" edits anymore.) Taylan (talk) 17:50, 7 March 2024 (CET)Reply[reply]

I had no idea I was giving you extra work, sorry for that. I usually don't make accounts, but if it saves you needless work I'll make one. 81.82.46.46 20:11, 7 March 2024 (CET)Reply[reply]
No worries, but yes it would help a bit, especially if you make lots of edits. Would be great if MediaWiki offered a way to mark an IP address as trusted, but I haven't found a way to do it, so creating an account would be best. If you create an account, I can also assign you the "maintainer" user group so you have a few more capabilities when editing, like deleting pages or editing templates. I see you've already assigned me to the "maintainer" user group, thanks! I'll make sure not to put this trust to shame!
Now that I have the ear of a high ranking person on the wiki, I'd like to point out an issue about the proficiency bonus and class levels, which I mentioned on https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Talk:Classes
I fear that post may have fallen beneath the radar, due to this wiki's high activity. Sparkle (talk) 22:36, 7 March 2024 (CET)Reply[reply]
Indeed. I'll look into it, thanks for notifying! With cantrip scaling you mean the damage, right? Like how fire bolt becomes 2d10 at level 5, which I assume is character level and not the level of the class they got the cantrip from. Taylan (talk) 14:44, 8 March 2024 (CET)Reply[reply]
Yes indeed, cantrip scaling is the damage of the cantrip, for example a level 9 fighter / level 1 wizard has cantrips which do 3 dice of damage because his character level is 10 but following what's written on the wiki, he'd do 1 dice of damage. Idem ditto for the proficiency bonus.

Edit: I'd like to point out this even applies to cantrips acquired through items, such as the Mourning Frost which gives Ray of Frost. If you give such an item to a character who has no levels in any casting classes, he'll still do damage which benefits from scaling cantrips appropriate to his character level. Maybe it's trivial to mention this, but it does show that the game ties scaling cantrips solely to character level. I have no idea how tabletop D&D does this.
