The Astral Plane is a location that can be reached by interacting with The Mysterious Artefact in Crèche Y'llek.
Chapter 1/2
When you come to the Astral Plane you will meet your Dream Visitor and find out that they reside on the Astral Plane.
Chapter 3
When you come back to the Astral Plane after you fight some githyanki monks (githzerai?) you will learn that your Dream Visitor is The Emperor. You have the option to join their fight or not. If you side with him, he'll explain his history and you'll meet Prince Orpheus. The Emperor will offer to help you evolve into a Mind Flayer.
A Portal will open and you can return to the Material Plane. This will return you to your campsite in Wyrm's Lookout. Once you leave camp, you'll come to Rivington.
Environment
Entering the Astral Plane imparts the condition Astral Gravity on all characters in your party.
