Dagger of Shar is an uncommon variant of the Daggers family of weapons. It is a simple melee weapon wielded in one hand. As a finesse weapon, it can benefit from the wielder's Dexterity and not just their Strength. It's a light weapon that anyone can dual-wield without special training.

The holder of this item gains:
- Grip of Shadows
- Deals an additional 1d6Necrotic damage if the target is not standing in sunlight.
Weapon actions
If you have proficiency, equip in main hand to gain:
- Piercing Strike ()
- Stab an enemy and possibly inflict . ( Recharge: Short rest.)
Special weapon actions
This weapon also grants the following:
- Edge of Darkness ()
- Create a cloud of Darkness while you attack. [See Notes] ( Recharge: Short rest.)
Notes
Regarding Edge of Darkness:
- This action is actually an AoE attack. After striking the main target, an additional attack is made against every creature and object within the 3 m / 10 ft radius around that target, including allies.
- On-hit reactions such as Divine Smite can be applied to each creature hit by this action (at the cost of multiple spell slots, in the case of Divine Smite).
Bugs
Regarding Edge of Darkness:
- The in-game tooltip for this action is inaccurate and missing key information about it being an AoE attack.
- The tooltip claims there is an associated Constitution Saving Throw, but this is not true.
