A Gargoyle statue highlighted as a trap

A Gargoyle Statue is a type of Trap that might be encountered in various places throughout all Acts of the game.

A Gargoyle Statue is an interior feature, depicting a winged creature chiselled of stone. It is commonly used as an adorning piece of various dungeons, crypts or well-equipped cellars, at the same time serving as a means of defence for these places, parts of them or certain objects from unwanted trespassers.

As a trap, the Gargoyle Statue usually is triggered through a marble plate (or any other similar means) planted nearby.

Upon triggering the Gargoyle Statue projects a jet of flame that protrudes forward for a decent distance once per turn (f.e., statues in Grymforge eject flame for 15 meters), dealing 3d4FireFire damage to any targets in its way and possibly make them fall Prone Prone. Otherwise, it can throw Fire Bolts Fire Bolts which deal same damage on the impact to any obstacle on the statue's firing line.

A Gargoyle Statue can be disarmed with the help of Sleight of Hand Sleight of Hand skill, but the character must have a Trap Disarm Toolkit in their inventory. Difficulty Class requirement is a DC 10 Sleight of Hand check roll.

Upon successful disarming, the Gargoyle Statue crumbles into a heap of stone rubble.
