Harm is a level 6 necromancy spell. It allows spellcasters to greatly enfeeble an enemy.

Description

Reduce a target's maximum Hit Points, but never below 1.

  • On a failed saving throw, Harm reduces the target's maximum hit points by 14d6 but does not actually inflict any Necrotic⁠Necrotic damage. This means that it does not trigger damage riders or other effects which require a damage source. Further, the effective damage dealt (through the reduction in maximum hit points) is reduced by the amount of hit points the target was already missing, potentially to zero.
    • On a successful saving throw, Harm deals 14d6 / 2⁠Necrotic⁠Necrotic damage as expected.
  • Creatures immune to disease receive no damage if they fail their save, but still take half damage if they succeed.
