Notes

  • This action reflects any projectiles directly targeting the caster. These include ranged weapon attacks, throwing attacks, and many ranged spells. What is classified as a "projectile"[1] is not consistent and cannot be easily intuited, so refer to the below list:

Projectile attacks

  • Area of effect projectiles like Acid Splash Acid Splash or Fireball Fireball can be reflected, but only if they are directly aimed at the caster. If the Reflective Shell caster is merely caught inside the explosion radius, the projectile will not be reflected.
  • If the original projectile requires an attack roll, the creature who fired it must make an attack roll against themselves. This is always made at Disadvantage Icon.png Disadvantage.
  • In Early Access, this ability was a wizard-specific Illithid Power.

Footnotes[edit | edit source]

  1. Any action whose SpellType is Projectile are classified as "projectiles" for this and similar effects. These actions have a Projectile_ prefix in their UIDs.
