Notes

  • Riposte only triggers from melee attacks (including melee spell attacks) made within 2 m / 7 ft away. This is slightly longer than the normal weapon range of 1.5 m / 5 ft but less than Extra Reach range of 2.5 m / 8 ft. This means Riposte cannot counter attacks made at full range from pikes and similar weapons.
  • Unlike a normal Opportunity Attack Opportunity Attack, Riposte does not require the character be actively wielding a melee weapon in order to use it. If triggered while wielding a ranged weapon, the character automatically switches to their melee weapon before performing the riposte.
    • If a melee weapon is not equipped, the riposte is performed with an Unarmed Strike Unarmed Strike instead.
