The best approach is to get up close to a Mimic before it can use it's lash attack, which can fling someone to a swift end down a chasm in the case of the Mimics in [[Grymforge]]. It is also wise to keep extra weapons on hand in case a character has theirs eaten from their bite attack or relying on your companions to kill the mimic to retrieve it from it's corpse.
