Aylin believed he was threatened by her and Isobel's love for each other, but both understood that he was concerned for Aylin's status as an immortal. After Isobel died, a grief stricken Ketheric turned to [[Shar]]. Under the influence of the Lady of Loss, he and [[Balthazar]] lured Aylin to the Shadowfell where they trapped and caged her.
