Rather than dropping loot, a Shadow leaves behind a [[Shadow Vestige]] on death that contains a trace of the life it led before it became transformed by the shadow curse. Each shadow drops a unique vestige. The contained memory is spoken by the game's narrator when the vestige is interacted with.
