Notes

  • Riposte can only trigger from melee attacks (including melee spell attacks) made within 2 m / 7 ft away. This is slightly longer than the normal weapon range of 1.5 m / 5 ft but less than Extra Reach range of 2.5 m / 8 ft. This means that Riposte cannot counter full range attacks from pikes and similar weapons.
  • Unlike a normal Opportunity Attack, Riposte does not require you to be actively wielding a melee weapon in order to use. If you trigger it while wielding a ranged weapon, you will automatically switch to your melee weapon before performing the riposte.
    • If you do not have any melee weapons equipped, you will perform the riposte with an unarmed strike.
