Effect
- Throw a bomb that explodes on impact and deals 3d4+9Force damage

- AoE: 4 m / 13 ft (Radius)
- Dexterity saving throw: DC 12 to halve the damage.
Where to find
- Obtainable from various merchants, enemies, and locations throughout the game. Cyrel and Roah Moonglow tend to be the earliest-encountered vendors who sometimes carry a few.
- One can be found on the window ledge of the prison cell in the Worg Pens of the Goblin area. Grabbable from inside the cell.
- One can be found in a trapped and locked Wooden Chest in the cave north of The Risen Road.
- Some can be looted from Goblins if they are killed before they could throw it.
- Can’t be crafted via Alchemy.
Notes
- A smokepowder bomb detonates and deals its damage when the bomb itself takes damage. Normally this occurs when the thrown bomb hits something (as throw attacks damage the thrown object). However, as of Patch 6, the bomb will be triggered multiple times if it takes damage from multiple sources at the same time. This can be achieved by stacking multiple damage rider effects that apply to throw attacks, such as lightning charges or Hunter's Mark. Each such effect will effectively cause the bomb to explode an additional time simultaneously.
- A log example of a multiple triggered smokepowder bomb would be:
- Char used Throw on Cave-In.
- Smokepowder Bomb was hit for 8 Bludgeoning damage.
- Smokepowder Bomb was hit for 1 Lightning damage.
- Char destroyed Smokepowder Bomb.
- Smokepowder Bomb received 2 Bludgeoning damage from falling.
- Smokepowder Bomb received 1 Lightning damage from falling.
- Char blasted Cave-In for 32 Force damage.
- Char blasted Cave-In for 0 Lightning damage.
- Char blasted Cave-In for 37 Force damage.
- Char blasted Cave-In for 0 Lightning damage.
- Smokepowder bomb blasted twice: first time provoking 32 Force damage, second time provoking 37 damage.
- Another consequence of the detonation occurring when the bomb itself takes damage is that dragging a bomb out of the inventory screen onto a Fire Surface (or any other surface that deals damage) will cause the bomb to detonate immediately. Because dropping items does not use an action, this can be repeated as many times in the same turn as one has bombs. (Some tricky positioning may be required to avoid blowing oneself up in the process.)
