Where to find

  • Once Volo has been rescued (see the quest Rescue Volo), you may tell him to find you in camp.
  • In camp, Volo can attempt to remove the player's tadpole via an experimental operation.
    • Needless to say - because Volo is a bumbling fool - this operation is unsuccessful and leaves the player character permanently blind in one eye. However, he gives you the ersatz eye, which negates the blindness and grants a permanent See Invisibility buff.

Notes and Trivia

  • In Early Access, the ersatz eye could be pickpocketed from Volo. In the full release of the game, the player must go through with his surgery in order to obtain the eye.
  • In Early Access, the ersatz eye provided +1 to Charisma Charisma and -1 to Intelligence Intelligence.
