Miscellaneous are various Items you can collect during your journey. They may be Valuables worth looting for sale to traders, important items that may move the story forward, books and notes the player can read, containers that store items, or in many cases simply items used as set dressing that have little or no value for the player.
You can find a detailed list of different types of miscellaneous items below.

Story Items
Story Items are Miscellaneous items which are Quest specific.
Normally these items further the plot of the story, allow the player to progress quests, or reveal important new information to the player.
Valuables
Valuables are Miscellaneous Items, with a Weight to Gold ratio that makes them particularly appealing for looting. They can be used for bartering, or selling to Traders that can be found in various Locations throughout the world.
Valuable items generally appear in the form of precious gems, valuable metals, paintings, or high-quality Kitchenware.
Books
Books are Miscellaneous Items in the form of properly bound books that can be read by the player.
Sometimes they will contain information that aids in certain quests or helps to progress the story but most commonly they contain stories, lore, or background information for characters and locations.
Notes
Notes are Miscellaneous Items in the form of loose paper or scrolls that can be read by the player.
Sometimes they will contain information that aids in certain quests or helps to progress the story but most commonly they contain stories, lore, or background information for characters and locations.
Containers
Containers are Miscellaneous Items that can have other Items removed from, or placed, within them.
Containers serve as sources of loot scattered around the world or can be used by the player to help organise their inventory.
Other Miscellaneous
Miscellaneous Items that do not fit in any of the above categories.
Interactive
Items that are not story items, but have an external effect, such as altering the environment, or triggering dialogue choices.
Consumables
