Bolts of Doom

Bolts of Doom is a level 4 evocation spell. It is a variant of Kereska's Favour that allows its caster to imbue themselves with the power of lightning and unlock resistances and spells associated with it. It is granted by Markoheshkir.

Description

Embrace Kereska's lightning bolts to gain resistance to ⁠Lightning damage. Your lightning spells deal additional ⁠Lightning damage equal to your proficiency bonus.

When you deal spell damage, gain 2^{[See Notes]}  Lightning Charges. While attuned to Kereska's lightning you can cast  Chain Lightning and  Lightning Bolt once each per short rest.

• Affected entity has resistance to Lightning damage.
• Its lightning spells deal additional damage equal to its proficiency bonus.
• When it deals spell damage, it gains 2  Lightning Charges.
• While attuned to Kereska's lightning, it can cast  Chain Lightning at 6th level and  Lightning Bolt at 3rd level once per short rest.

Notes

• The version of Chain Lightning granted by this spell can still be used with  Metamagic: Twinned Spell even though the normal version no longer can.
• The in-game tooltip says this effect grants 1 Lightning Charge, but it actually grants 2.
• This is the only variant of  Kereska's Favour that grants a 6th level spell. All other spells granted are cast at 5th level at most.
